I am Lecturer in the Department of Religious Studies at Santa Clara University, where I teach Catholic theology in the undergraduate core and in the Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries. I also serve as Editor of Covenant a weblog of the Living Church Foundation, and as Associate Editor for the journal Theological Studies.

I am an Episcopalian systematic theologian, primarily engaged in Catholic theology, and specializing in ecclesiology and sacramental theology. I am particularly interested in how human beings come to participate in the life of God, and in how that participation informs human activity in the world. My current research involves putting the outlook of the ressourcement movement into constructive dialogue with theologies of liberation.
